Its light weight Natural Composite Enclosure is manufactured from a rigid wood composite material that delivers exceptional sound quality. Not happy with the current selection of amplifiers on the market, Genelec created a new Class D amplifier with intelligent power management that reduces power consumption up to 90%. To increase the Genelec M040 woofer's low frequency extension and SPL capacity, Genelec designed an ingenious flow optimized reflex port. The built-in port maximizes airflow, so the M040 can reproduce deep bass without compression. The Laminar Integrated Port (LIP) minimizes port noise and provides excellent bass articulation.

The system's excellent directivity characteristics and accurate imaging together with its compact size and flexible mounting options make the Genelec M040 the perfect loudspeaker for a wide range of critical listening applications.

Each Genelec M040 monitor features a 6.5" bass driver along with a 1" tweeter loaded into a new advanced Genelec Directivity Controlled Waveguide (DCW) for optimum dispersion of highs. With a frequency response of 48Hz to 20kHz, the M040 is perfect for accurate studio monitoring. Bass and treble are each powered by 80-watt and 50-watt amplifiers, respectively.
